A new chapter begins December 2026 · Online therapy across Michigan

Hi, I’m Katie.

A therapist, former teacher, and fellow human just trying to figure things out.

Katie Osgood, LPC
Licensed Professional Counselor · Michigan

I think a lot of us get pretty good at figuring out what other people need from us. We learn how to be dependable, keep things running, and do what's expected. But somewhere along the way, it can become harder to know what we need, what we actually want, or whether we can trust ourselves to figure it out.

That's part of why I care so much about the work I do.

I'm Katie, a licensed professional counselor offering online therapy to teens ages 13 and up and adults across Michigan. I work with people navigating anxiety, self-doubt, people-pleasing, relationship challenges, and the transitions that can leave us questioning what comes next.

My approach is warm, down-to-earth, and collaborative. I'm not here to tell you who to be or hand you a list of things to fix about yourself. I'm here to help you get curious about what's happening, understand the patterns you've developed, and explore what might feel different. I'll listen, ask questions, offer perspective, and gently challenge you when it might be helpful. There's room for honesty, uncertainty, hard conversations, and humor along the way.

Before becoming a therapist, I was a teacher. That experience continues to shape how I work with people. It taught me the importance of relationships, curiosity, and recognizing that growth looks different for everyone. It also shaped my belief that understanding something can be an important first step toward changing it.

Psychoeducation and practical coping skills are an important part of my approach. I want you to understand what's happening beneath the surface, whether we're exploring anxiety, recognizing patterns in relationships, or making sense of the ways your brain responds to stress. Together, we can build that understanding and explore strategies that feel useful in your everyday life. My goal isn't just for you to gain insight during our sessions, but to leave with a better understanding of yourself and tools you can use as you navigate life beyond therapy.

I also believe you don't have to become a completely different person to make meaningful changes. You can learn to understand yourself without judging every part of who you are. You can care about other people without losing sight of yourself. And you can begin making choices that feel more like your own, even if you're still figuring out what that means.

My background includes a bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, master’s degrees in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and School Counseling, and specialized training in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR).
