Relationships & Life Transitions Therapy in Michigan

Relationships change. Life changes. Sometimes, you do too.

Maybe you're moving through a transition you expected or one you never saw coming.

A relationship may be changing. You're dating again after a long relationship. You're considering a separation. You're adjusting to becoming a parent, an empty nester, or a different version of yourself than you expected to be.

Maybe work has changed. You're questioning what you want next. You're navigating a move, a loss, a new chapter, or a decision that doesn't have an obvious answer.

Sometimes nothing looks particularly wrong from the outside, but something doesn't feel right anymore.

You may find yourself asking:

What do I actually want?

Is this still working for me?

Am I making this decision because it's what I want, or because it's what other people expect?

What happens if I choose differently?

Transitions can bring excitement and grief at the same time. You can know that something needs to change and still feel uncertain about letting go of what was. You can be ready for something new and still miss what you're leaving behind.

Relationships can bring some of these same tensions.

You may be trying to communicate differently, understand a recurring pattern, work through conflict, decide what you want from a relationship, or make sense of how a relationship has changed.

You don't have to be in crisis to want support.

Therapy can be a place to slow down, make sense of what's changing, and listen more closely to yourself.

Not so you can find the “right” answer.

So you can better understand what you're feeling, what you want, and what matters to you as you decide what comes next.

What we can work on together

Therapy might include:

  • Working through major life transitions, uncertainty, and difficult decisions

  • Understanding recurring relationship patterns, conflict, and communication difficulties

  • Exploring what you want and need from your relationships

  • Making sense of complicated feelings about a relationship, including separation or divorce

  • Navigating dating, new relationships, and changes in family roles or responsibilities

  • Exploring identity shifts, grief, and questions about who you're becoming

  • Building trust in yourself as you figure out what comes next

Sometimes the work isn't about figuring out how to make everything stay the same.

Sometimes it's about giving yourself permission to acknowledge that something has changed.

You may not know exactly where you're headed yet.

Therapy can give you space to slow down, get curious about what you want, and find your way forward with more clarity and trust in yourself.

Let’s start with a conversation.

A free 15-minute phone or video consultation is an opportunity to ask questions, share a little about what brings you to therapy, and see whether working together feels like a good fit.
